Make writing of GeoTIFF more reliable

There are 3 modules in subfolder formats: rowtiffraster, striptiffraster and tiletiffraster. Writing GeoTIFF by means of these, often goes wrong. Improve this! Possibly, the dependency on the libtiff library can be removed? Maybe the noGDAL Python package geotiff developed by Kipling Crossing can be used?
